5 Reasons Why Biden’s Open Border Policy Could Backfire on Democrats Long Term

First, let’s recap where we are: President Biden’s open border policy is one of the most disastrous policies in the history of our country.

This reckless “bus/fly and release” policy has put us all in danger; not just citizens in the border towns. One could argue this madness is an impeachable offense, but it doesn’t matter. The Democrat-controlled Congress is focusing on more important issues—like wokeness in the military and arresting colleagues without masks.

Biden has violated the law, the Constitution, and the oath he took on Jan. 20. Moreover, he’s potentially allowed foreign bad actors inside our country from an estimated 50 other countries or more, some adversarial.

Under Biden, there have been more than a million illegal immigrants apprehended at our southern border. I’m exhausted at hearing, “They are mostly good people.” There were only 19 terrorists who pulled off the 9/11 attacks. Nineteen. There are more players on a football field than that. Imbedded in these massive crowds have been many gang members, criminals, sex slaves and individuals on the Terrorist Watch List. And these are just those who were apprehended. Does anyone believe the number of DUIs issued last New Year’s Eve is the same number of people who were driving drunk? God only knows how many have gotten in without getting caught.

There has reportedly been enough fentanyl confiscated in the past year (the majority being on Biden’s watch) to kill every man, woman and child in the United States. That includes more than 1,000 pounds in June alone. Again, that’s only what we know about.

Wave of New Democrat Voters?

So, unfortunately, that’s where we are. What does it mean, and what effect will it have on our future elections? The conventional school of thought is that the purpose of the Democrats’ open border policy is to pick up millions of faithful voters who will change the election demographics forever.

We all have etched in our minds the photos of crowds of immigrants at our border humbly taking a knee, attired in matching T-shirts, pleading, “Biden Please Let Us In.” The shirts are cleverly designed by incorporating the Biden campaign colors and logo. It’s intended to send the message, “We will build bricks for you, Pharaoh Biden; just let us in.”

That is no doubt the goal of the Biden administration and explains that awkward, cackling laugh of Kamala Harris when asked about her plans to visit the border. After all, what’s the big hurry? She’s only the “border czar.” After three months, she finally decided to go and by an incredible coincidence, only one week before Donald Trump was set to go.

I concede their malicious plan could possibly work to some degree; time will tell. But I want to propose the viable possibility that the Democrats’ open border policy will backfire on them, even long term. Here are five reasons why I believe that’s a plausible concept:

Loyalty to Biden Is Only a Facade

Look, these people are desperate to get into the most prosperous country in the world for a better life—whether it’s a life of crime or a real job. If they thought Ronald McDonald was their ticket into the country, they would gladly put on T-shirts pleading with the happy clown, along with the golden arches, of course.

And if they thought standing on their heads was a better tactic than taking a knee, they would do that. Having grown up in a retail business family, I’ve seen that the majority of people are loyal only to a point, until you stop benefiting them. When your competitor undercuts you by a few bucks, many “loyal” customers will drop you like a hot potato. And who can blame them? So can we expect any more from these people who have no respect for our laws?

Socialism Savvy

You’ve heard the term “streetwise”? Many of these immigrants from all over the world are “socialism-wise.” They’ve seen firsthand the destruction of socialist and/or authoritarian governments. That’s why Cuban Americans overwhelmingly voted for Trump in the 2020 election. One Chinese American wrote, “We came to the United States because we desire to stay away from socialism and have the rights of citizens. Many of us grew up in this socialist country, and we really understand the issues of this system … It can be said that the current Democratic Party is on this path.”

Human Nature to ‘Look Out for No. 1’

I know none of you has ever done this, but maybe you have a friend who has waited a long time in the left-turn lane of a busy intersection. When that green arrow suddenly appears, you (I mean they) bolt ahead as if they were in the Indy 500, demonstrating their incredible “tailgating skills” to maintain a mere few inches behind their predecessor. Then, as you (I mean they) realize they’ve beaten that loathsome yellow arrow, they immediately slow up and back off to a safer and more reasonable position. But what about all those comrades behind them? Sorry, guys. Be ye warmed and filled.

As long as we let these immigrants in and give them free stuff, they will rush in and take it. But after they get here and settled in, they will likely take a “safer and more reasonable position.” Many of them will understand that if the country keeps giving everybody else what it gave them, it will be unsustainable.

Net Loss of Votes

All that said, there will be some Democratic voters; God only knows how many. But regardless, I submit to you that the Democrats have become so extreme and reckless, there will be enough Independents and moderate Democrats “converted” to more than make up the difference. If you’re filling a bucket with a water hose, even if the bucket has a hole in the bottom, the water level will increase as long as the inflow of the water is greater than the outflow of the hole. According to Pew Research, 38% of voters in the U.S. are registered Independents, compared to only 31% Democrats and 26% Republicans. This is huge. And polls show that as many as 80% of Americans support border security. I think the Democrats have grossly miscalculated their strategy, as they have repeatedly done in the past.

Spiritual Law Aspect

And last but not least, there’s the spiritual law aspect. Proverbs 26:27 (NLT) says, “If you set a trap for others, you will get caught in it yourself. If you roll a boulder down on others, it will crush you instead.” Psalm 57:6 reiterates that principle with this: “My enemies have set a trap for me … They have dug a deep pit in my path, but they themselves have fallen into it.” And Hosea 8:7 (NIV): “They sow the wind and reap the whirlwind.”

Haman was hanged on the gallows he built for Mordecai (Esth. 9:13).

In 2013, Harry Reid’s Senate voted to eliminate the filibuster for executive branch nominees. In 2017, it came back to haunt them; the Republican Senate used it to confirm Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.

The Democrats’ Russia hoax backfired, only exposing the egg on their faces.

Pelosi thought impeaching Trump would bring a Biden landslide and “blue wave,” but they lost 12 seats instead.

These are like reruns of Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner.

I believe they have overplayed their hand, and we will look back on this after the 2022/2024 elections (and beyond) and echo the words of Joseph to his brothers: “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present outcome” (Gen. 50:20a, AMP). {eoa}
