Could Phil Robertson Be America’s Next UN Ambassador?
During a campaign rally in South Carolina last weekend, Phil Robertson appeared with presidential candidate U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).
The Duck Dynasty star gave an impassioned speech, urging South Carolinians to support the senator in last Saturday’s primary election. After Robertson’s speech, Cruz took the stage and gave an endorsement of his own.
“You know what? There’s a reason he terrifies the mainstream media. He says the things you’re not supposed to say,” he said. “He actually remembers who we are as Americans and just speaks it with a joy, not with an anger, not with a hatred, with a joy in who we are.”
Then, in good humor, the Texas senator suggested an opportunity for Robertson in a potential Cruz Administration.
“Just for a thought experiment, imagine for a second: Phil Robertson, Ambassador to the United Nations,” he said to roars of laughter from the crowd. “How much would you pay to see the Russian ambassador’s face when Phil says, ‘What is wrong with you people?'”
