WATCH: Ted Cruz Says Obama Uses ‘The Exact Same’ Anti-Christian Argument as ISIS
Sen. Ted Cruz says Barack Obama and radical Islamists have something in common: the way they talk about Christians.
“When President Obama spoke at the national prayer breakfast [last year], the King of Jordan was scheduled to be there, but the day before he had to fly back to Jordan because ISIS had taken a Jordanian pilot, put him in a cage and lit him on fire,” Sen. Cruz told Fox News‘ Neil Cavuto.
“And President Obama gave a speech—I was sitting at the prayer breakfast—where he said, ‘Yes, they are committing acts of terror, but Christians and Jews have committed acts of terror as well,’ and he invoked the Crusades and the Inquisition,” Cruz remembered.
“Now, the last I checked the Crusades ended 900 years ago,” he said. “I don’t think it is asking too much to ask this president to stay in the current millenium.”
“That argument is the exact same argument that is made by the terrorists. ISIS,” he said. “When they are beheading and crucifying Christians, they invoke the Crusades and the Inquisition.”
