Rev. Jesse Jackson Demands Obama Pardon Clinton Before Vacating Oval Office
Rev. Jesse Jackson says if Barack Obama pardons Hillary Clinton, it will heal the hotly divided nation.
“Hillary Clinton has not been tried, but there are those who want to drag her for the next three years. It will not stop until they find a reason to put her in jail. That would be a travesty,” Jackson said at a rally at the University of Michigan.
President-elect Donald Trump previously promised that if elected, he would jail his Democratic competitor for using a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state.
“I didn’t think I’d say this, but I’m going to say it, and I hate to say it. But if I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation, because there has never been so many lies, so much deception,” Trump said. “There has never been anything like it, and we’re going to have a special prosecutor.”
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has opened and closed an investigation against Clinton twice.
Since the election, however, Trump Campaign Manager Kellyanne Conway says the president-elect has not “discussed” plans to pursue prosecution.
