God Blesses Leaders in Their Weakness
The world craves a tall, strong and handsome leader. But God ordains a leader who is weak in the flesh.
Spiritual anointing is coupled with gifts and a calling. Leaders are set apart for the work of their ministry. Once anointed, the opportunity for leaders is to remain fresh within their calling.
In 2 Samuel 3:39 David cried out, “Today I am weak, even if anointed king …” David had yet to claim his crown. He had keen awareness of what he would become, yet walked in lamentations about the timing of when he would receive his crown.
God’s leaders walk in weakness of the flesh. While weakness before God is a good thing, it sometimes seems difficult to move a team toward greatness while demonstrating weakness in the flesh.
A strong, decisive leader offers his team spiritual strength while remaining weak in the flesh, lest he be tempted. God’s strength shows forth at a leader’s weakest points. Paul’s glory came from his obvious physical weaknesses.
Our weakness qualifies us to lead in God’s strength. God blesses a weak king with fresh anointing.
Today’s Scripture
“But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” (2 Cor. 12:9).
Platform Tip No. 63
You will attract an audience to your platform as you develop a message that is directed to a felt need.
A platform does not invent needs and attempt to satisfy those needs.
Your message develops out of a deep awareness of the needs of your audience. They come to you for answers … not new questions.
Don’t be afraid of repetition. Embrace it.
