Jack Hibbs: Jews Should Be Preaching the Gospel
In these end times, God has commissioned many kingdom warriors to reach the Jews with the gospel of Jesus Christ. But Jack Hibbs, lead pastor and founder of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills in Chino Hills, California, says that it should be the other way around, according to the Old Testament.
It is the Jews, Hibbs says, that should be evangelizing to the Gentiles so that the Gentiles can spread the Good News of Jesus.
First Kings 8:60 reads: “And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the Lord, be nigh unto the Lord our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require: That all the people of the earth may know that the Lord is God, and that there is none else.”
First Chronicles 16:24 reads, “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.”
Psalm 67:1-3 reads, May God be gracious to us, and bless us, and cause His face to shine on us; Selah that Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You.”
“My Jewish friends, you are the ones who should be preaching the gospel,” Hibbs says. “You should be the ones all over the world who are publishing the gospel, the scriptures and evangelizing. You should be knocking on our doors inviting us to know Yeshua as the Mashiach, or the Messiah. Right now, Gentiles are doing it, but you’re supposed to be doing it. We’re supposed to be following you in all of this.
“It was commissioned to the Jew first. God announces that I am going to use you to comfort the nations, that the nations will be gathered to Him, that you will be a light to the Gentile world. So, the first evangelists of the gospel were to be the Jews.”
