Kirk Franklin Featured on New ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’ Single
The upcoming Space Jam sequel, set to release in theaters July 16, 2021, includes a faith-infused Gospel track featuring singer-songwriter Kirk Franklin and Atlanta-based rapper Lil’ Baby.
The single “We Win”, released May 21, features Lil’ Baby on the verses, with Franklin jumping in on the choruses, backed by a robust Gospel choir.
Franklin simply wrote, “Tomorrow…” when announcing the new single.

While the song centers around a primary theme of winning together, it also references a few spiritual elements.
Lil’ Baby sings of being called to pray when it “felt like I was cursed” in the first verse, and continues with the reference to prayer later on with Lil’ Baby singing, “Lot of time I was in need of work / Talked to God like I need this to work.”
“Long as I keep puttin’ my faith and trust in God / I know that everything will be fine,” sings Lil’ Baby.
Franklin previously released additional collaboration efforts since his last album in 2019, such as “Millionaire (Good Like That)” with Tauren Wells and “Together” with For King & Country and Tori Kelly. His album, Long, Live, Love, earned two Grammy awards in 2020 for best gospel album and best gospel song.
The upcoming film marks the first theatrically-released film to feature the Looney Tunes characters since Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003). Like its predecessor, it will be a combination of live-action, traditional hand-drawn 2D animation and 3D CGI effects featuring LeBron James.
