At least seven people were killed in a terror attack in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood in Jerusalem on Friday evening. Neve Yaakov is located is the northern section of Jerusalem.

Israeli police killed the terrorist.

Flanked by scores of security police, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir is at the scene of the terror attack, comforting weeping residents.

Residents in the area said no one in the neighborhood was carrying a weapon during the time of the attack, which took place outside a local synagogue. One resident said that if just person would have had a gun, at least three of the dead might have been saved.

As a result of security concerns surrounding a possible subsequent terror attack, a discussion is taking place as to fortification of the areas of Judea and Samaria as well as surrounding areas of Jerusalem with army presence. At the same time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has arrived at the scene, a rare occurrence on a Friday night, when Shabbat is observed.

Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan issued a statement following the attack, saying: “Innocent Jews were brutally murdered in Jerusalem on International Holocaust Remembrance Day by a Palestinian terrorist.”

“The UN must understand that every single day, the State of Israel fights the war against Palestinian terror and I demand immediate condemnation of this heinous attack,” Erdan added.

“If any lesson was learned from the Holocaust, it is that everyone, everyone must stand behind the Jewish state as we defend ourselves from terror. This is the true meaning of Never Again.”

Hoards of Palestinian youth have taken to the streets of Gaza waving Palestinian flags to celebrate the death of the seven Israeli civilians who were killed in cold blood by the 21-year-old terrorist, a resident of East Jerusalem.

Celebrations with firecrackers, whistles and shouts of joy are being heard in the adjoining neighborhood of Bet Hanina, an Arab residential area in close proximity to the Neve Ya’acov quarter of Jerusalem where tonight’s terror attack took place, killing seven and wounding three. Sweets are being distributed amongst residents. The line terrorist has been identified as 21 year-old Alkam Heiri.

This is a developing story. Please pray.
