Dr. Ingrid Skop Sheds Light on Health Issues Plaguing America Today
In an exclusive interview with Charisma News, Dr. Ingrid Skop shed light on health issues plaguing our nation today and the reality behind some of the darkest corners of the healthcare world.
Dr. Skop is a passionate advocate from the Charlotte Lozier Institute fighting for the sanctity of human life. She has been on the frontlines against the abortion industry for years now, and has seen the horrors first-hand of how this particular evil has negatively affected women and society at-large. In particular, she’s seen how chemical abortion is one of the dirtiest secrets held by the abortion industry. Her message comes at a timely manner as a federal appeals court ruled for restrictions on the chemical abortion pill, mifepristone.
“It’s not the same as emergency contraception,” Skop said. “It doesn’t always work, and especially if it’s done later in pregnancy. There’s more tissue, so a woman may have retained tissue, she may have hemorrhage, infection, it’s known to be associated with a very rare fatal infection. And what is happening in our country is that there is nothing mandatory about abortion reporting. So, we don’t know the numbers. We don’t know the complications; we don’t know the depths.”
Skop also notes that abortion methods are used by human traffickers and abusers as a form of birth control for the women and girls trapped in these situations.
“We know that sex traffickers are getting these pills, incestuous abusers, coercive boyfriends, we know there’s already an epidemic of unwanted abortions in our country,” Skop said.
Skop says that crisis pregnancy centers offer something different than what the abortion industry does. They provide pregnant women with the emotional support they need most, which can make a major difference of whether or not a woman decides to keep her baby.
“Most of the women who present to these centers say that they want to carry their baby, but they need help,” Skop said. “They need emotional support, perhaps financial or material support, relationships support. About 70% of women said they would carry if the father of the baby was willing to support them. So, I think that we see that so many women default to abortion just because they don’t think they have any other options.”
As the battle for life continues to unfold in courtrooms and communities across the nation, it is people like Dr. Ingrid Skop who are playing a crucial role for inspiring Christians to action for the protection of the most vulnerable among us. {eoa}
