Are Many Democratic Politicians ‘Embarrassed’ to Share Their Faith?

Democratic Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware recently revealed his concern that too many people in his party are “embarrassed” to openly share how their faith motivates political perspective and action.

Coons also said on the Church Politics podcast that he believes many constituents would also be shocked to learn just how deep some Democrats’ religious views go, particularly when it comes to the gospel and how it motivates these politicians.

“I am concerned, frankly, that more and more Democrats feel embarrassed about or uncomfortable with sharing anything about their faith and how it connects to their service,” Coons said on the Church Politics podcast.
