To say the movie detailing the origins of the Jesus Movement during the 1960s and 70s was a smash hit that reignited a spiritual passion for God in people across the nation would be an understatement.

In a powerful move of God, the opening for “Jesus Revolution” coincided with a spiritual awakening movement at Asbury University bringing nourishment to a nation that was severely spiritually parched.

Tired of the secularism flooding America today that offers no hope, guidance, healing or future, throngs of people flocked to the Asbury Awakening and “Jesus Revolution” in the hopes of quenching their spiritual thirst.

Fast-forward to the end of March and God’s blessing was clearly upon “Jesus Revolution” as it passed the $50 million mark at the box office.

As Charisma News reported, the film is slated for international releases during the month of April in Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand.

“It’s great to see those headlines that say the faith audience shocks the industry,” Erwin shared in an exclusive interview with Charisma News. “After such a long, long season of an industry being rebuilt, the last three years have been the most disruptive time ever in the history of theatrical movies.

“It’s a miracle. It’s a total miracle that a movie studio like Lionsgate allowed us to make a film called ‘Jesus Revolution.’ It’s not called ‘The Revolution,’ it’s called ‘Jesus Revolution’ and I think it’s a miracle,” Erwin says.

“For me, it’s the longest I’ve ever worked on a movie, and it’s amazing how God can even use disappointments. It’s like He had this plan for the movie,” he continued.

Now, as its triumphant theatrical release draws to a close in the U.S., “Jesus Revolution” is set to release in digital streaming format on Apr. 11, with its Blu-ray/DVD release Apr. 25. {eoa}
