Unlikely Allies Oppose Biden’s Equality Act Attacking Religious Freedom

As President Joe Biden’s Equality Act is being pushed through the House to the Senate, evangelical believers are uniting with Catholics and even a liberal law professor to protest its passage into law. Although it says the bill “sounds positive,” Intercessors for America reports a few of the concerns as it calls for concerted prayer against passage of the bill:

— Forcing young girls to share bathrooms and locker rooms with those who “identify” as female.

— Making it illegal “hate speech” to talk about biblical identity as it refers to homosexuality and gender.

— Strip the rights of Christians to exercise their conscience as it refers to hiring and even paying for abortions.

Were the Electrical Blackouts in Texas an Avoidable Tragedy?

Could the crisis and rolling blackouts Texas faced this week have been avoided? The answer is certainly yes.

But the bigger question remains: Was this avoidable winter crisis about inept leadership or something more sinister?

As Texas struggles to recover from the winter storm that left millions without power, it caused many to ask the question, “How could this happen?” Texas is the largest energy-producing and energy-consuming state in the nation. So, how did Texas find itself in an energy crisis during this artic storm?

It starts by looking at who is in charge. Did you know Texas has its own grid that regulates the electricity for most of the state? There are only three grids for the mainland U.S. These are the Eastern Interconnection, the Western Interconnection—and Texas.

Michael Brown Asks, ‘Are You a Fool According to the Bible?’

As defined by the Scriptures, a fool is not someone who is uneducated or a person with a low IQ. Rather, a fool is someone who is deeply deficient spiritually and morally.

As summed up in Proverbs 1:7, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Are you a fool according to the Bible? Am I?

Let’s look at just a few of the characteristics of the fool as laid out in Proverbs.

1) “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who listens to counsel is wise” (Prov. 12:15). The fool is always right in his (or her eyes), never willing to take correction, never willing to listen to sound advice, never willing to acknowledge error or wrong.

Perhaps we are not this extreme in our stubbornness, but is this our general tendency? Can people approach us easily, without fear? Do we receive correction with humility and even appreciation?

That’s why Proverbs 9:8 says, “Do not reprove a scorner, lest he hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.” So also Proverbs 17:10: “A reproof enters deeper into a wise man than a hundred stripes into a fool.”

Are you foolish or are you wise? {eoa}
