Sewell was radically changed by the power of God after encountering a security guard in Daytona Beach, Florida, who prayed for him. He then immediately felt the conviction of the Holy Spirit come upon him. After this, Sewell, who was a drug dealer at the time, made his way to a church, gave his life to Christ and was baptized in the Holy Spirit.
Now, years later, Sewell not only has seen God turn his life around for good, but his life now is marked by his viral Inauguration Day prayer that captivated millions across the nation. Speaking on freedom and liberation having come to America, Sewell also saw something incredible happen during this time.
“The moment when I looked up into that Rotunda…it was almost as if Jesus was taking the prayers of our forefathers,” he says. “You could see the prayers like the cloud of prayer.
“It was almost as if you could see the prayers, the cloud of glory, all the prayers of our forefathers of those that have been believing God.”
