President Obama Again Shows Blatant Disregard for Scripture

The president is invoking Scripture when it fits with his agenda, says creationist blogger Ken Ham.

President Barack Obama addressed poverty at a Georgetown University symposium earlier this month, and said meeting the needs of the poor should be inspired by faith-based groups seeking to serve.

“And so people withdraw and they restrict themselves to, what can I do in my church, or what can I do in my community?” Obama said. “And that’s important. But our faith-based groups I think have the capacity to frame this—and nobody has shown that better than Pope Francis, who I think has been transformative just through the sincerity and insistence that he’s had that this is vital to who we are. This is vital to following what Jesus Christ, our Savior, talked about.”

But what about abortion, Ham asks; or same-sex marriage?

“The president has exhibited blatant disregard for Scripture in regard to marriage,” Ham says. The president has shown a major disregard for Scripture when it comes to the deliberate killing of millions of children in their mother’s wombs. Humans are made in the image of God. … (W)e are totally human from the point of fertilization.”

According to the Susan B. Anthony List, Obama is the most “pro-abortion president ever,” which, Ham says, is in direct violation of Psalm 59, Psalm 139 and Genesis 9.

Obama’s administration is in complete support of nationwide gay marriage.

“At a certain point, I’ve just concluded that for me, personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married,” Obama said in 2012.

But as Ham points out, that position violates Mark 10 and Matthew 19. Yet when it comes to serving the poor, Obama is quick to point to the gospel and Christ as examples, without directly quoting Scriptures.
