Ramadan, fasting month in Islam, is this month. Please pray for Muslims to see the light of Jesus and for new believers to stand strong against all the challenges they face during this month. Read Ramadan Prayer Guide: How to pray for Muslims and Christians during Ramadan for a more in-depth look at the Islamic beliefs and practices surrounding Ramadan.

The life of believers in Christ is greatly impacted during Ramadan. For those who have left Islam for Christ, the pressures of living in Islamic culture are great. Many believers still live with family and friends who are Muslims. They may be unable to eat at home or in any public place or if they do, they risk interrogation, harassment, ostracism and abuse for publicly rejecting Islam. For these brothers and sisters in Christ, let’s pray for:

  • Strength to remain faithful to Christ and to discern opportunities to share God’s love with Muslim friends and family.
  • Wisdom and discernment for new believers as they respond to questions like, “Are you fasting?” or “Why aren’t you coming with us?” from friends, family and the community.
  • God’s protection and care over those who may be ostracized or persecuted because of their faith in Christ.
  • God’s wisdom and guidance for Leading The Way‘s on-the-ground teams as they follow up with new believers and help the persecuted in the Muslim world.

Prayer: Lord God, I thank You that You promise to comfort and bless those who are persecuted because of You. Protect Your children during Ramadan as their faith sets them apart from their Islamic culture. Help them to cling to You and know You in a more intimate way for You are all they have. Holy Spirit, comfort my brothers and sisters in their loneliness. Encourage them in the midst of doubt. Help them recall Your Scripture in times of need. Lead them to other believers who are experiencing the same hardships. Strengthen Your church and show them opportunities to tell others about the amazing gift of salvation You have freely given them in Christ. Thank You for Your watchful care over my brothers and sisters. Your promise to never leave nor forsake Your children. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen. {eoa}
