Tisha B’Av: A Call to Awaken
As you can see, a negative history tries to repeat itself time and again during this season, and more particularly, on this day. However, as intercessors and prophets, I believe that the Lord is calling us to awaken to the arrival of Tisha B’Av. If we are spiritually aware of the history surrounding this day, we can walk in humble repentance and declare the Lord’s protection in advance in order to prevent further destruction.
The Lord is calling us to be educated! He is calling us to awaken! And with this awakening we can break the evil cycles of the enemy. We are being called to repent as Jewish and Gentile believers in Yeshua—as the One New Man.
“God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands” (Acts 17:24).
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise“ (1 Cor. 3:16-18).
Open up the Fountains: Immersion!
“But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life“ (John 4:14).
Often we view warfare and intercession as decrees and declarations. And, while I do believe that the Lord is calling us to proclaim His Word over this season, proclamations do not take the place of repentance.
As we read the list above, we can see that the church is not innocent when it comes to the history of Tisha B’Av and the Jewish people. And in honor of the memory of all the horrific events that took place during this season, including the crusades and pogroms, the Lord is calling us to not only remember but also to repent. Remembrance and repentance hinder a repeat of negative history between the church and Israel.
Repentance Opens the Doors of Restoration
Repentance opens doors for us to be restored. Through House of David Ministries in Fairland, Oklahoma, the Lord has called us to open up a fountain, a literal pool to cleanse His temples. This is a place of repentance; a place of refreshing and empowerment; and a place of deliverance and restoration.
“In that day a fountain shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness. ‘It shall be in that day,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they shall no longer be remembered. I will also cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to depart from the land‘” (Zech. 13:1-2).
In this season I believe that God is asking us to allow ourselves to be immersed; thereby, allowing Yeshua to open up an inner fountain within us and cleansing us from the idolatry that leads us astray and destroys our temples.
It is our heart’s cry that many tribes and denominations would be represented at House of David’s Immersion pool. And it is our prayer that the Lord would pour out His Spirit, cleanse His living temples, and heal His people in this hour of need, so that His Body can reach a hurting world with the love and salvation of Yeshua.
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14).
