Here’s How the Trump Campaign Is Combating Media Bias

Monday night, the Donald Trump campaign launched a new method of outreach as part of its effort to circumvent the liberal mainstream media’s pro-Hillary Clinton bias.

“Trump Tower Live” will be a nightly recap of the day’s news from the campaign trail in which key members of the Trump team discuss what has been going on. It then serves as a prelude to the evening campaign rally—wherever it might be.

“[We’re] excited to be bypassing the left-wing media,” host Boris Epshteyn said in opening the inaugural segment, which he co-hosts with fellow Trump adviser Cliff Sims from Trump Tower.

The “evening newscast” will begin each evening at 6:30 p.m. EDT and will be “broadcast” via Facebook Live from the Trump campaign war room at Trump Tower in New York City. The first-ever episode featured Trump advisers Cliff Sims and Boris Epshteyn alongside campaign manager Kellyanne Conway.

It also featured Republican National Committee Communications Director Sean Spicer, as well as a “final thoughts” segment hosted by Tomi Lahren—fueling further speculation about her own future. As of this writing, it has generated nearly 1.5 million views.

Observers who insist Trump can’t possibly win the Nov. 8 election say it is a “trial run” for a future populist news outlet that would be run by Roger Ailes and feature leading pro-Trump conservative voices, such as The Blaze’s Lahren and FOX News Channel’s Sean Hannity. The Trump campaign—and Trump himself—have denied those rumors.
