Left Launches All-Out Media War to Silence Conservatives

The battle lines have been drawn, and it’s shaping up to be an all-out war.

With billionaire George Soros as one of its main financial backers, the left-wing activist group Media Matters has launched an all-out assault on President Donald Trump and conservative media outlets, stream.org has reported.

And it appears that Media Matters will stop at nothing to discredit the president and right-wing leaders, collaborating with organizations such as American Bridge 21st Century, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington and Shareblue, a social media firm that Media Matters describes as “the antidote to Breitbart.”

Stream.org reported that a document labeled “Private and Confidential,” written in part by Media Matters Founder David Brock, was leaked to the public recently. The document extensively outlines an agenda within the next four years to “continue its core mission of disarming right-wing misinformation, while leading the fight against the next generation of conservative disinformation.”

The document says if Media Matters and its partners are successful:

• “Serial misinformers and right-wing propagandists inhabiting everything from social media to the highest levels of government will be exposed, discredited.”
• “Toxic alt-right social-media fueled harassment campaigns that silence dissent and poison our national discourse will be punished and halted.”
• “Internet and social media platforms, like Google and Facebook, will no longer uncritically and without consequence host and enrich fake news sites and propagandists.”

In other words, anyone who does not agree with the leftist progressive point of view is a target to be silenced.

The document reveals that American Bridge will be “the epicenter of Democrats’ work to regain power—starting in 2017 and building to 2020. If successful:

• “Trump will be defeated either through impeachment or at the ballot box in 2020.”
• “The balance of power will shift back to the Democrats.”
• “We will free ourselves from solely relying on the press. Our robust digital program will reach voters directly online.”

The untrammeled and clearly visible liberal bias in the press likely is one of the reasons Trump was elected to the White House.

Full-Blown Effort Against Conservatives

Politicians have even called for the physical removal of Trump from the White House. In a now-deleted Facebook post, Missouri State Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal called for Trump’s assassination. California congresswoman Maxine Waters has lobbied openly on national television for the impeachment of both Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.

The Southern Poverty Law Center continues its attempt to discredit conservative organizations such as Liberty Counsel and the Family Research Council, feeding its vitriol to media outlets such as CNN.

Senseless incidents and violence such as those in Charlottesville, Virginia, and the widespread banter about white supremacy have only fueled the fire of the left’s attack on conservatives.

Stream.org‘s Rachel Alexander reports that, now that the right is aware of Media Matters’ plan, some intend to fight back. A new website called Media Equalizer has been launched to combat Media Matters, as well as a Facebook group called Stop the Scalpings, which has gathered over 90,000 members. {eoa}
