Pastor Robert Morris Warns of the Dangers of the Jezebel Spirit

“I believe the No. 1 spirit that attacks leaders is the Jezebel spirit,” Pastor Robert Morris of Gateway Church says, explaining that he preached another message on Jezebel about 10 years ago that God continues to use in mighty ways.

Morris cautions his hearers that Satan will do his best to keep them from hearing such an important word.

“I’m calling it the Jezebel spirit, but I believe there’s a spirit that attacks leaders,” he says, noting the specific phrase “the Jezebel spirit” is not found in Scripture. It attacked Elijah in the Old Testament and was also attacking leaders at the church of Thyatira in the New Testament (Rev. 2), Morris explains.

“The Holy Spirit is saying, ‘This is the most important attack leaders face,'” he says, adding later, “When you allow a Jezebel spirit in your congregation, there are many things that can come as a result.”
