’19 Kids and Counting’s’ Josh Duggar Makes His Mark on D.C. Politics
Powered by conservative values, Joshua Duggar is taking his new life in Washington in stride.
The executive director of the FRC Action, the legislative affiliate of Family Research Council, Duggar first gained fame through his family’s TLC reality show, 19 Kids and Counting. Now, he’s moving in the political circles, where his name brings added value to his work. Based in Arkansas, the family is known for their their wholesome lifestyle, from courting relationships to dress codes (the girls wear skirts to or below the knees at all times) to limited physical contact.
Christ remains at the center of it all, and Duggar uses this momentum for political gain.
“People know who our family is, that it’s built on strong faith and caring for people,” he tells the Washington Post. “It’s been a great fit, it’s an extension of who we are.”
Through the FRC Action, Duggar is making an impact in politics. The organization travels across the country, promoting politicians with traditional American values. Eighty-eight percent of the candidates the FRC backed in midterm elections won, the Post reports.
According to the FRC Action, typical candidates support a renewal of Judeo-Christian morality, restoration of the Constitutional balance between church and state, and Constitutional protection for all stages of life, from conception to natural death.
Duggar is especially passionate for pro-life causes, as his wife is currently pregnant with their fourth child.
