Media Outlets Trash Successful ‘Sound of Freedom’ Film as ‘Fit for QAnon’

Caviezel SoundFreedomDespite the fact that liberal media outlets continue to trash it as “QAnon-adjacent and “fit for QAnon,” the new Angel Studios film “Sound of Freedom” continues to rack up huge box-office numbers since its release early last week and has become the No. 1 movie in America.

Variety reported Sunday that the faith-based movie about child sex trafficking, starring “Passion of the Christ” actor Jim Caviezel, has collected an “impressive” $40 million after only six days of release. It far outdistanced the new Harrison Ford sequel “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” which has brought in $26.5 million during that time.

On its official release day on the July 4 holiday, “Sound of Freedom” generated $14.2 million and picked up another $18.2 million last weekend. It is playing in 2,850 American theaters in North America, compared to 4,600 for the Indiana Jones flick.

Many liberal media outlets are labeling “Sound of Freedom” as “fodder” for conspiracy theorists, Fox News Digital reported. The UK’s The Guardian claimed in its headline that “The QAnon-adjacent thriller” was seducing America.

The UK’s Jezebel labeled the move is an “anti-child trafficking fantasy.”

Considering the chaos and the child-trafficking tragedy on the U.S.’s southern border, Caviezel has claimed that many on the left did not even want to see “Sound of Freedom” ever released in theaters. Caviezel’s true story portrayal of former government agent Tim Ballard, however, has become an endearing story to moviegoers throughout the country.

Caviezel told Prophets and Patriots podcast host Jeff Tharp that “Sound of Freedom” is a “rejection of what they are doing to our Christian culture right now,” and that’s why it took five years for the project to be completed and release in theaters nationwide.

“The government doesn’t want to expose the truth of what’s going on. They are afraid of this film, much the same way they were terrified with ‘The Passion of the Christ'” says Caviezel.

Caviezel told Tharp that more than 2 million children annual are “sold” in this country, and that is a “minimum.” Caviezel believes the number is closer to 6 million.

The Guardian completely dismissed “Sound of Freedom” as a box-office success.

“No matter that these figures require selective, almost willfully misleading framing to allow for the David-and-Goliath narrative trumpeted by supporters; as the copious tweets accusing Disney of being in cahoots with a global cabal of higher-power pedophiles make clear, the truth doesn’t have too much purchase around these parts,” reviewer Charles Bramesco wrote.

The liberal publication also described the film as a “Crisis Pregnancy Center” because of its persuasion to “believe in its subject matter by giving them a more palatable version, echoing claims that crisis pregnancy clinics propagandize against abortion.”

Brandon Purdie, head of theatrical distribution at Angel Studios, completely debunked The Guardian’s narrative and says the film has drawn not just national, but worldwide attention.

“As with our July 4th numbers, today’s numbers exceed our expectations, and we’re going to continue this momentum,” Purdie said in a statement. “We’re getting messages from all over the country telling us about packed theaters, sold-out theaters and spontaneous standing ovations for the film in numerous locations. Seeing this film has become a must, thanks to incredible word-of-mouth.”

One aspect of the liberal media’s anger comes from the fact that recent faith-based films have been doing well at the box office. “Jesus Revolution,” starring Kelsey Grammer and Jonathan Roumie, opened earlier this year to a $15.8 million debut weekend. In 2018, the Erwin brothers’ musical drama “I Can Only Imagine” debuted at $17.1 million.
