The footage shows Schmidt standing at the street corner, where he fell forward and then got back up to his feet. Shortly after, it was discovered that he had an unexplained wound on his head.
During a press conference in November, Gina Winn, the public information officer for the Glendale Police Department, stated that it is still unknown how Schmidt was shot and if the shooter was in a car or on foot at the time of the incident. It is also unknown if Schmidt was targeted or if it was a random act of violence.
