Her high school abortion has haunted her since, rapper Nicki Minaj tells Rolling Stone

“I thought I was going to die,” she tells the music magazine. “I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I’d ever gone through … (it’s) haunted me all my life.”

The confession comes after the release of her album Pinkprint, on a song called “Autobiography”:

“Please, baby, forgive me,

Mommy was young, mommy was to busy tryna have fun

“And now I don’t pat myself on the back for sending you back

“‘Cause God knows I was better than that to conceive then leave you

“The concept alone seems evil

“I’m trapped in my conscience,” she raps.

“… Can’t you see I’m right here

“I gotta let you know what you mean to me.”

Her Rolling Stone interview, and the song, is the first time she’s opened up about the issue, telling the magazine it’s something she’s never before shared with fans.
