Trump Named Pro-Life Person of the Year: ‘He Is a Worthy Recipient’

Operation Rescue, a leading pro-life activist organization, has awarded President Trump the Malachi award and named him its 2020 Pro-Life Person of the Year.

The prestigious award, which Trump also received in 2017, is given to the person who best upholds the ideals of Operation Rescue and who best exemplifies dedication to supporting pro-life initiatives.

Trump made history as the first president to attend the 2020 March for Life. Operation Rescue President Troy Newman said that during Trump’s presidency, he has done more to advocate for the unborn than all previous presidents combined.

“It is my honor to acknowledge these accomplishments and relay my deep gratitude to him for keeping and exceeding all his promises when it comes to the matter of abortion,” Newman continued. “He is a worthy recipient of the 2020 Person of the Year Malachi Award.”

President Trump has accomplished this through the many steps he took to defund abortion worldwide.

Most recently, the Trump administration withheld $200 million from the state of California for requiring all health insurance policies to include abortion coverage, which forces those who object to fund abortions, the Operation Rescue news release states.

Likewise, the American Center for Law and Justice reported on a huge win for the pro-life community in a lawsuit in which the states of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi could disqualify Planned Parenthood as a medical services provider under Medicaid. This case is pertinent as it could be heard by the Supreme Court should it go forward. The president has appointed three Supreme Court justices during his first term (along with multiple judges), producing the first conservative majority in the high court in decades. This makes it more likely that an outcome favorable to pro-life activists will be reached.

During an event honoring the pro-life legacy Trump has built, his administration applauded his contributions, saying it is his “most important accomplishment” during his time in office.

President Trump has surely fulfilled Dr. Michael Brown’s urging, “Let us turn our passion into action, and let us put feet to our conviction.”

Truly, Donald J. Trump was advocating for the unborn before even taking office, at which point Pence recalls a time in which Trump said, “I believe it is the most basic of government duty to guard the innocent.”
