Labeled ‘Anti-Gay, Anti-Choice Extremists,’ Christian Benham Brothers Lose HGTV Show
Duck Dynasty has become a faith-based reality TV show smash on A&E, but HGTV has decided not to play into God’s hands with Flip It Forward. Instead, the cable network is playing into the gay agenda’s hands, once again showing how Christians are being demonized for sharing what they believe about marriage and abortion.
HGTV had announced the series, which was set to debut in October with twin brother stars David and Jason Benham. The twins have been flipping houses at a profit and were going to show the masses how they can buy a home they might not otherwise be able to afford, finding a fixer-upper and transforming it into “their forever home—with a healthy dose of sibling rivalry between the brothers along the way.”
In a cowardly move, HGTV decided to tweet its decision that it’s bowing to the gay agenda’s pressure. HGTV killed the show before it ever had a chance to shoot for Duck Dynasty-like destiny.
“HGTV has decided not to move forward with the Benham Brothers’ series,” the tweet said.
What happened? RightWingWatch.org has labeled the Liberty University grads “anti-gay, anti-choice extremists.” Yeah, that’s all it took.
In a published statement, the Benham brothers said:
“The first and last thought on our minds as we begin and end each day is; have we shined Christ’s light today? Our faith is the fundamental calling in our lives, and the centerpiece of who we are. As Christians we are called to love our fellow man. Anyone who suggests that we hate homosexuals or people of other faiths is either misinformed or lying. Over the last decade, we’ve sold thousands of homes with the guiding principle of producing value and breathing life into each family that has crossed our path, and we do not, nor will we ever discriminate against people who do not share our views.
“We were saddened to hear HGTV’s decision. With all of the grotesque things that can be seen and heard on television today you would think there would be room for two twin brothers who are faithful to our families, committed to biblical principles, and dedicated professionals. If our faith costs us a television show then so be it.”
Blessed are the persecuted, but God help us. This is just the beginning, folks. Only prayer can push this darkness back now. Some may think this doesn’t hit close enough to home to do anything other than shake their head. But, saints, hear me: If we don’t rise up and stand together against these assaults on our free speech, we will ultimately lose our freedom, and canceled TV shows will be the least of the persecution. Let’s rise up and pray and take action. Let HGTV know how you feel about the decision. Pray for the Benhams. And pray for America.
