Stephen E. Strang’s ‘God and Donald Trump’ Helps Explain Why Most Evangelical Leaders Are Still Loyal to the President

Especially in recent weeks, most Americans—whether supporters of President Donald Trump or not—would give anything to be a fly on the wall inside the Oval Office, privy to “the inside story” of what goes on at the White House.

Stephen E. Strang’s soon-to-be-released book, God and Donald Trump, provides that inside look through personal, one-on-one interviews with Trump, along with firsthand reports from many of America’s best-known and most insightful Christian leaders.

And now, as one evangelical leader left Trump’s advisory council while others are crafting statements about why they’re staying, the “faith factor” that permeated the campaign and the election continues.

“Not only did the candidate make his faith an issue, but he went to the trouble of creating a faith advisory board of pastors, evangelists and ministry leaders years before he entered the race,” Strang said. “Trump obviously believed that religion was an issue, and he understood that the evangelical community of more than 35 million potential voters was an audience he needed to know more about.

“As he gathered advisers and strategists to his side,” Strang continued, “he discovered that the people in the flyover zone were profoundly angry with Washington. They were tired of the government’s lurch toward globalism in the Obama administration. They were concerned about the impact undocumented immigrants were having on their communities, and they were rightfully afraid of the threat of radical Islamic terrorism. I believe Donald Trump shared those emotions, but how much of what he promised on the campaign stump was merely tactical, and how much was inspired by a genuine concern for the future of the nation?”

Strang also reveals the strategies, behind-the-scenes activity and profound voices that helped shape these dramatic events, as well as sharing background into Trump’s life that helps give insight to the man—and president—he is today.

A brand-new website and video for God and Donald Trump has been unveiled at GodandDonaldTrump.com; view the video here. Visitors to the site can also download a free chapter and preorder the book.

God and Donald Trump—set for release on Nov. 7, almost a year to the day from the presidential election—takes an incisive look at the factors that shaped the election and drove the largest number of conservative and evangelical voters ever recorded to the polls.

With a foreword from presidential hopeful and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, many are giving early praise for God and Donald Trump:

God and Donald Trump may very well be one of the most important books about the Trump presidency.” —Fox News’ Todd Starnes

“This must-read book reaches far beyond politics into the redeeming frequencies that America surely needs.” —Author and evangelist Alveda King

Stephen E. Strang is an award-winning journalist and successful businessman who began his career as a newspaper reporter at the Orlando Sentinel before founding a Christian publishing house and media company while interviewing and writing about nearly every Christian leader in the country over the past four decades.

God and Donald Trump is published by Frontline, an imprint of Charisma House, which has published books that challenge, encourage, teach and equip Christians, including 13 New York Times best-sellers.
