You Won’t Believe What the LGBT Agenda Has Done to ‘Little Women’

The many who grew up reading the children’s classic Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and enjoyed watching the movies that adapted the book will be shocked to find out that a politically correct version of the book has been written. The children’s book, Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy is a modern retelling of the Little Women story that was first published 150 years ago. The modern retelling changes the racial makeup of the characters, which is fine. Where it goes off the rails is by making Jo, the second oldest of the sisters, a lesbian.

The author of the new book, Rey Terciero, said, “Jo is my favorite, so I wanted to play with the subtext that may not have been available 150 years ago, but that we can speak openly about these days. Being LGBT myself, I’m just happy to be creating a book that I wish I could have read as a young reader.”

More and more, publishers are inserting sexual identity messages and agendas in books that are used in schools, libraries and readily available online as well. For families with Christian worldviews, this is troubling and worrying, especially when these publishers are twisting classic literature to promote their own political and ideological agenda.

This modern retelling of Little Women is being serialized and released online and will be made available in its entirety by the largest educational book trade publisher, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.

The Christian Film and Television Commission put together a petition to stop the release. You can view it here.
