Walmart Shooter’s Suicide Note: ‘I Failed to Listen to the Groans of the Holy Spirit’

The man who gunned down six co-workers inside a Walmart in Chesapeake, Virginia, and later turned his gun on himself last week apologized to God in a suicide note for his actions and said his victims weren’t singled out or chosen for any particular reason.

Andre Bain, 31, said in his note left on his phone and found by police that he was offended because his co-workers had compared himself to serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.

“They laughed at me and said I was like Jeffrey Dahmer,” Bain’s note read. “I would have never killed anyone that entered my home.”

The note read that they tormented him with what he described as “evil twisted grins,” The Western Journal reported.

“(Bain’s associates) mocked me and celebrated my downfall the last day,” Bain’s note read. “That’s why they suffer the same fate as me.”

The note, released to authorities on Friday, referred to his fellow employees as “idiots with low intelligence,” that he was “led by the Satan” to kill them that he ignored the Holy Spirit, whom he said had told him to stop. But, the note went on to say, “May God forgive me for what I’m going to do. … I wish that I could have saved everyone from myself.”

“Sorry God, I’ve failed you, this was not your fault but my own,” the note read. “I failed to listen to the groans of the Holy Spirit, which made me a poor representation of you.”

In the note, Bing explained that he had “remained strong” throughout most of the torment by his fellow employees, and that his act was not premeditated, although he harbored ill will against them for their actions and felt betrayed by one of them.

“The associates orchestrated it,” the note read. “They laughed and made subtle code speeches, which I eventually figured out. I thought (co-worker, name blacked out) was my friend but he betrayed me. Betrayal is one of the worst feelings, next to regret.”

Bain pointed out that he was a good person, if they had just gotten to know him better.

“My only wish would have been to start over from scratch and that my parents would have paid closer attention to my social deficits. Sorry everyone but I did not plan this. I promise things just fell in place like I was led by the Satan.

“… My true intent was never to murder anyone, believe it or not. I was actually one of the most loving people in the world if you would get to know me. I just wanted a wife that was equally yoked. As I obsessed over the thought, however, I didn’t deserve a wife. I hope that people will learn from everyone’s mistakes and truly love God and not the material possessions of the world.”

In the note, Bain pointed out that one of his co-workers, from maintenance, who was mentioned by name by Bain but blacked out upon release of the note, had quit her job “was emanating with the Holy Spirit, which I could feel. People thought that she was crazy for walking out, but unlike me, she actually listened to the Holy Spirit …. So one day she approached me in personnel and apologized to me. On her last day, she looked me in the eyes, terrified by a demonic aura.” {eoa}
